5 Things God Can Do In A Moment

This thought of what God can do in a moment came up in a conversation recently. I think we need to come back to this thought often because it can put in perspective our ability versus His which reminds us why we need to put our trust in him. The bible is full of accounts where God tries to show us this.

God constantly picks the people who no one else would pick. He picks the weak, ugly, rejected, and most unlikely to succeed. And I think he does this so that we will know that it’s in His power that all things are possible. God calls us to be available more than he call us to be capable.

God calls us to be available more than he call us to be capable

So with that, here are a few thoughts on what God is able to do in a moment.

  1. Create a major part of creation – Genesis 1
    • In a moment He created what takes us years to investigate and somewhat understand.
  2. Heal you physically – Mark 2
    • In a moment Jesus healed a paralytic man and I believe that God can heal people today through unexplainable miracles and through the miracles of modern-day medicine.
  3. Change the entire trajectory of your life – Acts 9
    • In a moment God changed a Christian killer into the biggest promoter of Jesus and God can change you.
  4. Absorb all the wrath that was due to you and me – John 19
    • In a moment Jesus absorbed all the wrath that was due for your sin and mine and makes this forgiveness available to all who believe in Him.
  5. He promised to come back to get those who have put their trust in Him – Revelation 16, 22
    • In a moment Jesus will reappear to take all those who have been adopted into the family of God to Heaven

I think this is why Paul said, “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong” in 2 Corinthians 12:10. Paul had experienced what God could do in a moment and he wanted more of it. And the only way to do this was to get out of God’s way. To decrease so that God could increase, as John the Baptist says in John 3:30.

God can do immeasurably more than we ever could think or imagine in one moment. So take this Moment and seek Him.
